Grant H. Wood


Grant serves individuals, couples and families in the areas of emotional, relational, social and spiritual development. Grant has received training in emotionally focused couples therapy with Dr. Sue Johnson, and has also completed advanced training in couple therapy at the gottman institute in Seattle, Washington. He specializes in pre-marital and marital enrichment, high conflict marriages, men’s issues, addictions, leadership development and spiritual formation. Grant is a clinical member of the american association for marriage and family therapy, the american association of christian counselors, spiritual directors international and the Savannah Family Institute. Grant takes joy in performing and composing music, reading, long-distance kayaking and wrestling with his children.

Emma Wood


Emma Wood is a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist. Emma serves individuals with a variety of problems including addiction, marital problems, parenting, abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety and life adjustments of all kinds. Emma has received training in emotionally focused couples therapy with Dr. Sue Johnson, and has also completed advanced training in couple therapy at the Gottman institute in Seattle, Washington. She offers comprehensive assessment, counseling and enrichment for premarital couples and married couples. Emma is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Association of Christian Counselors and is certified in the SFI Model of Family Therapy. In her spare time, Emma enjoys hiking, reading, yoga, laughing with her friends and playing with her children.

Jeannie Mall


Jeannie believes a safe, open, and trusting relationship with her clients is foundational for healing. Her calm, compassionate, approach is integrative and holistic, seeking to include the mind, body, spirit, emotions, and brain. She works with individuals and groups. Groups include an Anxiety/Mindfulness lunch hour support group and a Trim Life weight release group. She is equipped to work with many individual presenting issues, and specializes in helping clients understand and heal from early age wounds and trauma patterns that are still playing out in their adult lives. Jeannie is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Association of Heart-Centered Therapies. She is certified in Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, and has additional training in DBT therapy, Mindfulness, the Mind/body connection, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), and Splankna therapy. Her passion is to understand the brain and energy systems in the body, and to use the knowledge therapeutically. In her free time she enjoys quiet reflection, creative healthy cooking, exercise, a good book (and a good nap!), and spending time with her husband of 39 years, adult children, grandchildren, and pets.

Karin Imhoff


Karin is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals (both adolescents and adults), couples, and families facing a variety of life’s challenges.  She understands that every person has a unique story, and it is in the context of these stories that she offers hope, encouragement and practical solutions. She has a particular passion for those experiencing difficulties related to emotional isolation, intimacy and connection, ineffective communication, parenting struggles, stress, anxiety, or low self-worth.  Karin’s counseling education and experience enable her to bring empathy and compassion to the counseling relationship, while her life experience helps her integrate useful and practical suggestions. Many of her past clients have complimented her ability to combine emotion and logic into her sessions, providing a more well-rounded approach to problem solving. Karin has been married to her husband, Bryan, for ten years and enjoys the complexity of raising their four young children.  As a result she understands the intricacies of balancing parenting, marriage and self. She is respectful of all cultures, ethnicities, religions and backgrounds and appreciates and accepts each individual she counsels.

Joel Gustafson


As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Joel is passionate about serving individuals, couples, and families in all stages of life, as they move toward emotional, relational, social, and spiritual health. Joel serves people in the areas of anxiety, depression, pre-marital/marital, men’s issues, addiction, parenting, grief/loss, life transitions of all types, and identity formation. Joel is an active member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists. Joel finds peace and joy in spending time with his wife and three kids, being outdoors, music, sports, exercising, reading, learning and his friends.

Shawna Shaw


Shawna uses a goal oriented approach to help individuals, couples and families who are struggling with a relationship or a challenging life transition. Many times these struggles cause anxiety, depression, anger and resentment. Shawna strives to provide a safe, comfortable and compassionate environment to help her clients work through these challenging times.  Shawna is also a trained Discernment Counselor. Discernment Counseling is different from couples counseling in that it assists couples where one or both parties are considering separation or divorce. She helps these couples gain greater clarity and confidence in their decision making about the future based on a deeper understanding of what’s happened to their relationship. Discernment counseling is short term, lasting anywhere between 1 and 5 sessions. When Discernment Counseling is complete, couples will have the option to begin individual or couples therapy if they choose.  As a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, Shawna provides premarital and marital enrichment counseling. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). Shawna has two daughters and spends most of her free time chauffeuring them to their various activities and asking them to get off of their electronics.

Greg Ferguson


Greg is a licensed professional counselor with an emphasis in marriage, couple, and family counseling. He considers it a privilege to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families as they experience a variety of personal and relational difficulties including marital discord and conflict, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, grief and loss. Greg works from an Attachment perspective and utilizes Emotion Focused Therapy in his work. He is a member of The American Counseling Association (APA), a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator for pre-marital and marital counseling. He enjoys reading, running, and spending time on the beach whenever possible with his wife and kids.

Tanja Haaland


Tanja Haaland received her Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of South Dakota.  After completing graduate school, Ms. Haaland worked as a primary trauma therapist at Two Rivers Psychiatric Hospital, on a nationally known Trauma Unit. During her time there, she recognized the need to include an Eating Disorder Program, as many of the individuals admitting to the trauma unit struggled with disordered eating. After creating and managing this program, Ms. Haaland transitioned into her private practice, where she continued to treat clients with Eating Disorders, particularly those impacted by the effects of trauma. In 2014, she was responsible for the start-up of the Eating Disorder Center of Kansas City, and managed this center until early 2017, when she returned to the outpatient private practice setting. Ms. Haaland is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the states of Kansas and Missouri. Since 2006, Ms. Haaland has presented Nationally on the topics of Eating Disorders and Trauma. With much compassion, care, and curiosity, she helps clients gain tools and insights to help themselves connect with their own power to heal and recover. In her free time, Tanja enjoys playing with her three children and dog, riding horses, and reading.

Melinda Schneider

Melinda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with both adolescents and adults. Melinda seeks to utilize the strengths of her clients by incorporating empowerment, hope, mindfulness, and logic to aid in the development of skills and applicable solutions for each person’s unique challenges. Melinda’s passion is working with those who are overcoming traumatic experiences, and struggling with disordered eating patterns by addressing concerns such as anxiety, low self-worth, and ineffective relational patterns. She also has a passion for walking beside adolescents and teens as they navigate the complexities of school, identity, and self-differentiation. Melinda’s background and education in counseling and nutrition enable her to bring a well-rounded and holistic approach to the counseling relationship that balances the many aspects of the human experience. She is respectful and appreciative of all cultures, ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds of those she serves. Melinda is certified as both a trauma professional and a DBT therapist.
